Two of our all-time favorite Latina singers will be performing during the halftime show for Super Bowl 2020. Pepsi Cola, the official sponsor for the upcoming Super Bowl, confirmed that Jennifer Lopez and Shakira would be preforming together for the epic halftime show.

Super Bowl 2020 will take place on February 2 in Miami and the halftime show will be partially produced by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Company, who just recently signed a contract with NHL for staging and supervising of the entertainment portion for Super Bowl 2020.

This is the first time two of the biggest Latin musicians will come together to perform on the same stage, but this isn’t just any stage. The Halftime Show for Super Bowl is one of the most broadcasted events in the world.

Lopez posted on her Twitter account that performing the halftime show has always been a secret little dream of hers after seeing Diana Ross skyrocket off into the sky at one halftime show. Plus, the upcoming Super Bowl is even more, extra special because it will be NFL’s 100th anniversary.

Shakira feels honored to have been invited to take on the world’s biggest stage in the company of Lopez, giving them the opportunity to not only represent Latina women but Latinos and Latinas all over the world. She considers this to be the ultimate American Dream and on her Twitter account, promises that they are going to bring us the show of a lifetime.

A little extra fact is that Super Bowl 2020 will also be Shakira’s birthday, so she will make sure we all get into the festive mood with her.

Fans are not shy about showing their excitement for this upcoming event by posting comments such as: “This year’s halftime show is gonna be epic!” “I’m so proud! I’m so excited! Prepare to be entertained!!!” “Latina POWER!”

Many fans are speculating on the reason behind the choice of Shakira and Lopez for Super Bowl 2020. Some believe it was due to the mediocre performance by Maroon 5 at the last Super Bowl. Others believe it has a lot to do with the location of the upcoming Super Bowl – Miami. Miami is the epicenter for Latin culture throughout continental USA.

Jennifer Lopez has been in the headlines recently for her Oscar role in the real-life based movie “Hustlers.” Her recent film is already winning awards in the film festivals and has already brought in $33 million since hitting theaters earlier this month, making it Lopez’s biggest blockbuster yet.

Plus, Lopez will be seen on the big screen in the following months with a romantic comedy that she co-stars with our favorite heartthrob, Owen Wilson. The movie is called Marry Me and should be released early 2020.

Shakira has been keeping busy this year with her world tour, plus winning more than 10 Latin Grammy Awards and three International Grammys. Plus, she will be releasing a film this November called “El Dorado” based on her Grammy winning world tour.

Lopez and Shakira have never disappointed us in the past with their over the top singing, choreography skills and music, so we are sure Super Bowl 2020 will be one for the memory books.
