The Lizzie McGuire Remake – All The Details You Need to Know About Disney’s Latest Reboot

Lizzie McGuire Remake

Lizzie McGuire is coming back to us after almost 18 years since the original show was released and we have to admit that we are ecstatic. Here is everything we have found about it so far about the Hilary Duff returning to us as Lizzie McGuire.

Just to get started, first off it will be coming to Disney’s new streaming service called Disney Plus. Disney Plus will be our one stop for all of our Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic shows. Netflix should be nervous because this new online streaming provider sounds amazing.

Hilary Duff has been a beloved household name since she was only 13 years, when she launched her first episode as Lizzie McGuire on the premium cable Disney Channel. Yes, people used to have cable TV before online streaming. Her hit show transformed Duff into one of the biggest celebrities of the 00’s, mostly due for her upbeat personality and likeability.

Lizzie McGuire gave us 65 blissfully entertaining episodes. Soon after that, she won over more and more hearts with her roles in Cheaper by the Dozen, Agent Cody Banks and the film A Cinderella Story. But she was unable to get a break with blockbusters that reached out to a more mature audience.

But we never really forget one of our favorite all-time American actresses.

We still don’t know the actual launch date of the updated Lizzie McGuire show. However, we do know that the new Disney Plus streaming service will be released on November 12 of this year. The remake will be coming back as a series for weekly watching pleasure.

Hilary Duff will be coming back as a 30 year old Lizzie McGuire, who lives in Brooklyn. Her life isn’t exactly what it used to be. But she is thirty years old and is still trying to stay positive and keep her chin up. She is working not as a decorator, but a decorator’s apprentice. But life is comfortable, she can afford as many shoes as she wants and has a dreamy boyfriend in the series that owns his own Soho restaurant. Sounds like a fairytale came true for our loveable Lizzie McGuire.

Well, that wouldn’t be any fun watching, right? Well, there is a big twist ending of the very first episode that will turn Lizzie McGuire’s so-called perfect life, upside down.

But we are sure you want to see, even if she is the only cast member returning to the iconic Disney series. There has been no official confirmation as to whether some of our old time favorites will be returning to the show, such as Gordo (Adam Lamberg) or Kate (Ashley Brillault). But Hilary Duff stated on an interview with Entertainment Tonight that there is a strong probability that the entire original cast will at least make a surprise appearance on the new show. Exciting!

But what about the little Lizzie cartoon character that kind of acted like an updated “Jiminy Cricket”? Seems that she will be making a return too but she will be wearing the exact same ensemble from the original show.

For now, we just have to make sure that we subscribe to Disney Plus, so we don’t miss a single episode when it finally comes out.
